ASWSU unanimously approved a 5% student transit fee increase proposal at this week’s senate meeting. The transit advisory group, which is part of the University Parking and Transportation Task Force enacted by ASWSU, presented the fee increase proposal to senators during Wednesday’s meeting. Two candidates were elected to the positions of chair for ASWSU’s Veterans and Military Associated Students Committee and the Gender and Sexuality Alliance Committee. WSU Transportation Services relies solely on fines and fees to pay for maintenance, while leaving students confused and upset about the proposed three-year permit increase plan. GPSA senators discussed a Student Transit Fee proposal, and candidates for GPSA executive positions spoke about issues they are passionate about during the general election debate Monday.
