The Delhi High Court has sought the stand of the Centre on a petition by a pharmaceutical company challenging the government's decision to ban manufacture, sale and distribution for human use certain Fixed Dose Combination (FDC) drugs.
Centre has banned 14 FDC drugs due to ‘no therapeutic justification’ and potential risk to patients, including Nimesulide and Paracetamol dispersible tablets and Chlopheniramine Maleate and Codeine syrup. The Health Ministry issued the notification based on recommendations from an expert committee.
