Godowlia-Maidagin road being dug up for road construction, increasing hardships for commuters
VARANASI: The officials claim to complete the Godowlia-Dashashwamedh pedestrian road with heritage look by February-end, but the Godowlia-Maidagin road project will leave the people and pilgrims heading to Kashi Vishwanath temple struggling for next five months.
Reason for it is the compulsion of keeping this road open for commute as not only major markets are located along it, but construction material for the Kashi Vishwanath Dham (corridor) project is also transported through it.

Cong takes out Sandesh Yatra
Varanasi: To mark the party’s 136th Foundation Day, the leaders and workers of Congress party carried out a ‘Congress Sandesh Yatra’ march in the city on Monday.
The party workers gathered near Gandhi statue at Bhadau Chungi area under the leadership of the party’s city unit chief Raghvendra Chaubey and other senior leaders. Later, they marched towards Dashaswamedh via Prahladghat, Machhodari, Viseshwarganj, Thatheri Bazar, Chowk, Bansphatak and Godowlia area. Their march culminated at Chitranjan Park where they held a meeting.
The speakers paid tributes to the legendary leaders of the party and recalled its history. They also took pledge to take the party’s ideology among people and to expose the anti-people policies of the Bhartiya Janata Party led centre and state governments.
