A 28-year-old man, Chukwuemeka Obijofa, who allegedly killed his wife, Chisom Chukwuemeka, 26, and his four-year-old son with a shovel, has been arrested by operatives of the Anambra State Police Command.
CSP Haruna Mohammed, the command’s Public Relations Officer, PPRO, who made this known in a statement, yesterday, in Awka, said the suspect allegedly ran amok in circumstances yet to be ascertained before attacking his wife and child.
He said: “On January 26, at about 7:45 p.m., Police operatives attached to Ozubulu Police Station arrested one Chukwuemeka Obijofa, 28, of Ofufe Nza village in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State. ....

A 28-year-old man, Chukwuemeka Obijiofor, has killed his wife and only child in Ozubulu, in the Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State.
PUNCH Metro gathered that the suspect allegedly clubbed the victims with a shovel.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Haruna Mohammed, said the incident happened on Tuesday.
Mohammed said, “On Tuesday, around 7.45pm, police operatives attached to Ozubulu Police Station arrested one Chukwuemeka Obijiofor, aged 28, of Ofufe Nza village in the Ekwusigo LGA of Anambra State.
“The suspect allegedly ran amok in circumstances yet to be ascertained and attacked his wife, Chisom Chukwuemeka, aged 26, and own child, Amanda Chukwuemeka, aged four, both of same address, with a shovel on their heads. ....

The police in Anambra has arrested a 28-year -old man, Chukwuemeka Obijofa, for allegedly killing his wife and four-year-old child in Ofufe Nza village in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the suspect reportedly attacked his wife, Chisom and his child, Amanda on their heads with a shovel. He also reportedly injured a vigilante member who tried to rescue the victims.
The Anambra State Police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed, who confirmed the incident, said the suspect has been arrested while the corpses have been deposited at the hospital’s morgue after being certified dead by the doctor. ....

Anambra State Police Command have arrested a 28-year-old man, Chukwuemeka Obijofa, for allegedly hacking his wife Chisom Chukwuemeka, 26 years old and their four-year-old child, Amanda Chukwuemeka to death with a shovel at Ofufe Nza Village in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State on Tuesday.
CSP Haruna Mohammed who confirmed the incident in a statement said the suspect may have suffered some insanity as he reportedly ran amok in circumstances yet to be ascertained.
He was said to have equally used the same shovel to attack a local vigilante man who had tried to rescue the victims.
On getting a report of the attack, detectives had visited the scene where the victims were picked and rushed to a hospital at Ozubulu. They were however certified dead on arrival by a medical doctor, PPRO added. ....
