Elavarasi Jayakanth started her business from scratch with less than Rs 100 after a robbery which left her mentally and physically disturbed.

Thrissur: Elavarasi Jayakanth, a native of Usilampatti in Tamil Nadu, grew up watching her parents and grandparents make sweets and snacks to earn a living. She used to help them sell the products in her village. Her family moved to Thrissur district in Kerala more than 45 years ago.
After her marriage, Elavarasi followed suit. She began making sweets and snacks at home and distributed them to nearby stores and homes. ....
