She has been busy capturing the energy and cultural variety in the city through street photography. With her camera, she is celebrating all colours of models in unique fashion styles. I came here in 2015 to attend TRU and saw there is so much cultural diversity here,” she said. “We have many different looks, talents and fashion styles. Connecting with local talents and models shows me we have got what it takes to be like Vancouver or Kelowna minus the fast life, which for me is a big plus. My photography style is basically bringing creatives together and making a name for Kamloops.” ....
Included among the 14 eclectic groups of performers in the show is the All My Relations Dance Group, a multi-generational group of Indigenous dancers, singers, musicians and storytellers, made up of sisters, daughters, mothers and cousins. Based out of Kamloops and featuring the talents of Bernice Jensen, Brittany Jensen, Jewel Jensen, Timara Jensen, Susan Oliverius and Shyla Raine, this group has honed its skills by travelling from powwows to festivals, sharing stories and creating a performance with visuals, songs with powerful meanings. Also part of the show is the mother-daughter duo of Robyn Wallis and Valerie Easton, who will be performing together for the first time. Robyn is an actor, dancer and singer who recently moved to Kamloops and is now a teacher in School District 73. Theatre fans may have seen her as Cosette in WCT’s production of Les Misérables.
