New Delhi: Popular Tamil actor and comedian Vivek, who passed away earlier today at the age of 59, was laid to rest on Saturday in Chennai with state honours. He was accorded state honours with a 72-gun salute in Chennai, during his last rites ceremony.
The Padma Shri awardee was admitted to the intensive care unit of SIMS hospital in Vadapalani, where he later passed away after he had suffered from a heart attack on Friday. He had reportedly fainted after expressing discomfort and his family rushed him to the SIMS Hospital at Vadapalani while he was in an unconscious state. ....

CHENNAI: Tamil film actor Vivek died in a Chennai hospital in the early hours of Saturday. He was 59.
Vivek was admitted to SIMS Hospital in Vadapalani where he underwent an angioplasty and stenting procedure on Friday for a complete block in a critical blood vessel of the heart. He was put on an ECMO support in the intensive care unit. He passed away at 4.35am, a medical bulletin from the hospital said.
The 59-year-old actor was brought to the emergency room of the hospital in an unconscious condition around 11am on Friday by his wife and daughter after he complained of discomfort. ....

Popular Tamil actor and comedian Vivek passed away on Saturday at SIMS hospital here. He was 59. The Padma Shri awardee actor was admitted to the intensive care unit of SIMS hospital in Vadapalani after he suffered from a heart attack on Friday. The 59-year-old actor reportedly fainted after expressing discomfort and his family rushed him to the SIMS Hospital at Vadapalani while he was in an unconscious state. He later underwent an emergency coronary angiogram followed by angioplasty.
The actor s condition was reported to be critical and he was on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in the intensive care unit of the hospital. The ace actor had earlier made headlines on Thursday for his efforts to remove the fear of the COVID vaccine among the public. Instead of opting for a private hospital, he had chosen to get vaccinated from a government hospital to spread awarenes ....

Actor Vivekh who suffered a massive hear attack on Friday, died early Saturday morning (4:35 AM) according to hospital sources,
The Hindu reported. He was 59.
He was taken to SIMS hospital in Vadapalani on Friday morning, after he collapsed at home. He was revived and was hooked up to an ECMO on Friday.
Dr. Raju Sivaswamy, Vice President, Medical Services, SIMS, said, Vivekh had been put on ionotropic support, to help the heart beat, but from about 2 AM on Saturday, his health began to decline, and the blood pressure would not hold. “Resuscitation itself, after he landed in the hospital, took about 45 minutes. There is a condition called reperfusion injury that might occur after this procedure, and causes damage to tissues, when the blood returns to the organ. He could not survive this injury,” he said. ....

The 59-year-old comedian died in the early hours, SIMS Hospital vice president Dr Raju Sivasamy said.
The actor is survived by wife, two daughters and years ago, Vivekh’s teenager son had died.
On Friday, the actor suffered a cardiac arrest due to acute coronary syndrome and he was treated for it and put on Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation support.
Vivekh was brought to the hospital in an unconscious state by his family.
The comedian, who has acted in over 200 films is noted for his work on the environmental protection front and he actively campaigned and involved himself in planting saplings and afforestation. ....
