Prices for staple items like coriander, ginger, garlic, beans, and chillies have been rising in India. Coriander is being sold for Rs 220 per kg, while ginger costs Rs 250–300 per kg and garlic Rs 200 per kg. Beans are scarce and selling for Rs 160 per kg. Chilli prices have nearly tripled from Rs 40–50 a kg to Rs 120–100.
