KANSAS CITY, Mo. â The head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, Andy Reid, said Monday during a virtual news conference that his son, Britt, recently underwent surgery.

Chiefs assistant linebackers coach Britt Reid was involved in a multi-vehicle crash that injured two young children less than two days before the team was scheduled to depart for Super Bowl LV in Tampa, Florida.
With less than 10 minutes before Super Bowl LIV kicked off, nurses rolled Heather Steppe into a post-op room. As she held her newborn, her husband Kyle opened his laptop and turned on the big game.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes "cleared certain steps Monday, 'some big steps', but he remains in the NFL’s concussion protocol," ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter said on Twitter.
