Vance schools adding in-person classes in March

HENDERSON — Vance County Schools students will experience a blend of in-person and remote learning beginning in March, thanks to a school board vote earlier this week.
The board agreed to what the district is calling a “staggered re-entry of students” that will begin March 4 for pre-K, kindergarten, first-grade and exceptional-children’s programs.
The phase-in will extend to the second, third, sixth and ninth grades March 15, with grades 4, 5, 12 and 13 following March 22, and the remaining grades 7, 8, 10 and 11 adding in-person instruction to their program March 29.
Officials say the decision means a mix of in-person and remote learning will be available for all grade levels, and that they’ll still give families desiring to remain fully remote “the option to do so.” ....
