KATHMANDU, June 8: Chief Minister of Sikkim, India, Prem Singh Tamang has shown interest in opening the Chewa Bhanjyang border crossing between Nepal and India. He visited Chewa Bhanjyang on Tuesday and said that his government is trying to open the border to benefit India and Nepal.
In his resignation letter sent to Chief Minister Tamang, Sharma said that the state government has not taken the sentiments of Sikkimese people seriously and thus he feels that it s not necessary for him to remain in the state cabinet.

ITANAGAR/ SHILLONG, Jan 16: Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya along with the other North East States lauched vaccination drives on Saturday. Guwahati/Agartala, Jan 16 : The eight northeastern states joined the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive on Saturday with thousands of frontline health workers across hundreds of centres getting inoculated for the infection.
Chief Ministers and Health Ministers of northeastern states formally rolled out the vaccination programme in the state capitals whereas senior health officials especially of the National Health Mission (NHM) have been constantly monitoring the inoculation drive and registering the necessary data in the Covid Vaccine Intelligence Network (CoWIN) platform.
