The process of filling two vacant seats on Anglesey Council will take place on the same day as May’s Senedd elections, it has been confirmed. During Tuesday’s full council meeting, Chief Executive Annwen Morgan confirmed that by-elections to fill the vacancies in both the Seiriol and Caergybi wards will take place on May 6. For almost a year Anglesey Council has not had its full quota of members following the passing of independent councillor Shaun Redmond last March, after a long cancer battle. The ranks were further depleted last month following the resignation of Plaid Cymru councillor Lewis Davies, leaving 28 of the authority’s 30 designated members.
