East Kingston Fire Department awarded $7,500 grant for turnout gear

EAST KINGSTON – Chief Ed Warren announced this week the Fire Department was awarded a $7,500 grant from Enbridge Energy.
The funding was awarded to the department by Enbridge Energy, a Canadian-based energy company, through their Safe Community First Responder Program. The program provides fire departments, ambulance services, and other emergency responders with grants to help first responders purchase safety equipment, or participate in professional trainings or safety education programs.
Warren said the funding will be used to purchase three full sets of turnout gear for East Kingston firefighters.
