Gabrielle Madison Jellum appeared Feb. 2 in Mille Lacs County District Court in Milaca, where she was also charged with two felony counts of failing to stop in a traffic collision and failing to notify police of the hit-and-run crash. Gabrielle Madison Jellum Jellum is accused of hitting 20-year-old Chey Amos Garbow of Onamia Dec. 9, 2020, on Virgo Road with her vehicle and then leaving the scene. Garbow was wearing a black winter coat and black pants. Medical examiners determined Garbow died of blunt force trauma due to the pedestrian-vehicle collision. ....

The Mille Lacs Tribal Police responded to the fatal crash at 1:19 a.m. The pedestrian was identified as Chey Amos Garbow. Anyone with information on the hit-and-run is asked to contact tribal police at 320-532-3430. An Onamia man, Chey Amos Garbow, 20, was the victim of a fatal vehicle hit and run on the morning of Dec. 9, 2020. The incident occurred at 1:19 a.m. on Virgo Road, just north of Cashâs Landing, in Mille Lacs County on the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Reservation. No one has been arrested, and the death investigation is ongoing. The Mille Lacs Band Tribal Police is the agency handling the investigation, with Mille Lacs County Sheriffâs Office, Minnesota State Patrol, and the Midwest Medical Examinerâs Office assisting at the scene.
