glad you re with us this morning. i m steve chenevey. i m sarah simmons. first, some school closing to tell you about because of the weather. algoney county public schools in the mountain ridge school district only are closed today. again, that is in the mountain ridge school district only. also, garrett county schools are closed today. the snow emergency plan is in effect for garrett county. got some snow out in western maryland this morning. we ve been showing that to you on the radar. good morning, everybody. some snow out to the west, we were maryland, the panhandle of west virginia. not here in the washington area. although we could see a flurry or two this morning here in the washington area. let s take a look at hd radar. we ll start with that. we ll show you that precipitation. it doesn t look particularly impressive on our radar but i guess they ve had enough out there to cause some problems. there are some snow showers showing up right now near hagerstown at t

it will feel colder than that. good morning to you. good morning, everybody. happy new year. let s take a look at what is going on out there. as far as our temperatures go, it is a cold start to the day. yep, temperatures in the 20s across most of the region. 29degrees in washington. dulles airport at 27 degrees. winchester e 2. fredericksburg, 27-degree at this hour so very cold air in place. here is a look at the sentinel radar. now, not a lot to see here. but if you look up to the north and west, it is picking up a few streamers coming off the great lakes, a few little snow flurries here and there. and i would not be surprised if anywhere in our region sees some snow flurries early this morning but it would not amount to anything. nothing really to worry b it will be a cold day today and a mixed bag as far as our sky conditions go. a lot of clouds around this morning. maybe a little more sun later. rather breezy, downright windy at times with winds gusting up to 125 miles
