Bain Capital set for further expansion in Korea

US private equity firm bets on Douzone, Cheongna International City

Bain Capital is accelerating its investments in the Korean market with an aim of scaling up its Seoul office that opened two years ago in Cheongdam-dong, according to media reports and industry sources, Tuesday.
The world s 10th-largest private equity firm (PEF) based in Boston has become the second-largest shareholder of Douzone Bizon recently by acquiring a 4.77 percent stake in the Korean software company for 165 billion won ($146 million).
The Douzone Bizon deal came a few months after Bain Capital decided to make its first investment in a real estate project here.
