The Renauds were third on the guest register when the hotel first opened its doors on New Year’s Day 1928 having traveled all the way to Beverly Hills, California.
“When they came from Michigan it must have been a very, very long trip and one more reason for our staff at the time to take very, very good care of them here at the Beverly Wilshire,” said Peter Humig, general manager of the Beverly Wilshire – a Four Seasons Hotel. “Air travel wasn’t what it is today so most guests would have arrived by train or car.”
