She survived a huge second-set challenge from Daria Gavrilova to advance to the third round of the 2021 Australian Open.
Barty took out the match 6-1, 7-6 after winning the second set tie break 9-7.

After Barty comfortably took out the first set 6-1, Gavrilova fought back in the second set after looking dead and buried, trailing at one stage by five games to one. She fought like no other to turn around and win the next five games. ....

In the normal world, the 2021 Australian Open would’ve been run and done, and our champions would’ve been toasted with a media shoot by the Yarra River.
However, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and Australia’s strict quarantine protocols, which have proven effective in fighting off COVID-19, forced this year’s tournament to be pushed back by three weeks, with the first ball to be served in anger next Monday, February 8.
