RAWALPINDI: With the start of the summer, power outages continuing for hours have started in the garrison city.Local residents said in the sweltering heat it was difficult to live without electricity and water. Moreover, students appearing in online exams are facing problems due to disconnection in the internet.
“We were already facing water shortage and the excessive loadshedding has added to our miseries. One can imagine the situation in in July and August,” said Mohammad Aslam, a resident of Allahabad.
“We managed to install an uninterrupted power supply (UPS) device but its battery ran dry after three hours,” he said. ....

IESCO Increases Recoveries by Rs. 10.75 Billion Despite COVID-19
The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has reported monumental growth in recoveries between July 2020 and April 2021, recouping an excess of Rs. 10.75 billion as compared to the previous year.
Sharing the details with the press, CEO Chaudhry Abdul Razaq revealed that an amount of Rs. 120.223 billion had been recovered from the government and private consumers through utility bills last year. However, in the current fiscal year, a sum of Rs. 130.976 billion was recovered from the consumers, registering an increase of Rs. 10.75 billion.
He claimed in a statement that the recoveries from government institutions and private consumers remained the top priority of IESCO. ....

IESCO grants 2,796 net-metering connections

ISLAMABAD. The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) granted 2,796 net-metering connections in the region, here on Tuesday.
IESCO Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Chaudhry Abdul Razaq said that net metering was a revolutionary step taken by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government. He said the Power Division minister was also actively pursuing the policy to promote it across all power distribution companies (DISCOs). There is a good environment for net-metering here in the IESCO region, he added.
He said the company had received over 3,000 applications for net-metering connections. After a necessary departmental investigation, it sent 2,960 applications for net-metering connections to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), which issued licence for 2,917 applicants for net-metering connections. ....

No loadshedding during Eid holidays: IESCO

Islamabad: Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Chaudhry Abdul Razaq has announced that there would be no load-shedding and load-management during the Eidul Fitr holidays in the region.
“We will ensure continuity of power supply round the clock in the whole region,” Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has issued a press release here on Monday. The chief said that monitoring cells at Iesco head office and all operation circles have been established to monitor power continuity and immediately redressel of customers’ complaints. He said that head office monitoring cell number is 051-9252933-6. The customer can call in this number to resolve their grievances, he assured. ....
