Georgia Senate runoff: Polling hours extended at 2 Chatham polls
Two Chatham County polling places will have their hours extended past the 7 p.m. deadline for the Georgia Senate runoff.
Precinct 8-12, Beach High School will be open and receiving voters until 7:35 p.m., and Precinct 3-1, Old Chatham County Courthouse, will be open until 7:33 p.m.
Around 5:30 on Tuesday, the Democratic Party of Georgia asked for an extension of voting hours at the two Chatham County polls after equipment malfunctions delayed their opening.
At a press conference outside Beach High School, Chatham Elections Board Member Antwan Lang, Savannah Mayor Van Johnson and Ga. Sen. Lester Jackson asked that Beach High School and the Old Courthouse have their hours extended by 35 minutes.
