One person hospitalised after car vs cyclist crash in Kilbirnie, Wellington

A person has been transported to Wellington Hospital in a serious condition after a crash involving a car and a cyclist Kilbirnie this morning.
A spokesperson from Wellington Free Ambulance said they were called to the incident on Kemp St at about 10.10am
Police were conducting interviews at the scene as of 11.30am.
Capital and Coast District Health Board spokesman Chas Te Runa confirmed that the person had been taken to Wellington Hospital s emergency department and was now in a stable condition. ....

Waikato DHB patients being sent around the country in wake of cyber attack

“There is a need for us to take some patients to be cared for at Tauranga and Whakatāne hospitals that would otherwise be cared for at Waikato Hospital,” Anstis said.
“Patient care is our top priority, and we are doing all we can to assist our colleagues at Waikato DHB at this time.
“To help us with this, we would like to ask people to please only present at our emergency departments if it is an emergency.

Cyber attack sends Waikato DHB cancer patients to Auckland for radiation therapy

Waikato DHB chief executive Kevin Snee said some cancer patients requiring radiotherapy were being sent to Auckland DHB, following a cyber attack hitting Waikato hospitals.
Radiation therapy relies heavily on targeted and complex treatments driven by computer software, which is why it has crashed, Snee said.
The hospital would be contacting all radiation patients affected and speaking to them directly about the possible transfer, Snee said.
“We are very sorry we have to do this, but rather than having people waiting, which may affect the outcome of care, we are doing everything we can to make sure they are getting good care. ....
