we re gonna discuss lord of the flies. another hour of velshi, begins right now. good morning, and this sunday august 14th, i am velshi, it s been a week since the fbi has conducted mar-a-lago, as donald trump tried to branded, and we learned it is the third time that we know of, that representatives of the american government have to go visit former president trump s west palm beach hideaway, where he has been stashing a highly sensitive documents, that belong to the united states. back in january, the last archives collected 15 boxes from mar-a-lago, after they realize the trump administration, some things they never handed over. during that first round of retrieval, were documents that were marked classified. this was just a small sign of things to come. we know that this past spring, the department of justice quietly subpoenaed donald trump for any and all remaining records that he had in his possession. it s an important point, trump keeps talking about a raid, whe ....

I bought a few books a few years ago. i go to stores. i walk into stores, i know what i m gonna get before i walk in and i go by it. and so, look, these refined fees, to me they make sense. i understand why retailers are doing it. and frankly if this discourages my wife from shopping online, i am all for it. i resemble some of those remarks, charlie. you are blaming your way for. but that is hilarious. so juliet, here are the list of major chains that are changing their policies that everyone should know about. anthropology, zahra, age and i am, abercrombie & fitch, j.crew. basically they are now gonna charge something like $7.50 for when you return their stuff. because as charlie points out, don t all of us, sometimes, order multiple things in different sizes because we don t feel like going to the store and drying it on? so we try it on at home and then we return it and see a charge? yeah, jobbing is miserable. and doing it online has made it ....

Argument to the judge that this is an urgent matter? and he said this is actually the federal court system putting the pedal to the metal. yeah. it normally cases do move at a very slow pace. i was surprised december 10th was set. that strikes me as a little long. you can ask for expedited hearings, temporary restraining order, preliminary junction in a case like this. so that does seem a bit longer than is necessary. but as charlie points out, even if there was a favorable decision here for congress, it seems likely that there would be an appeal and that would go to the appellate courts and so a final answer on that decision isn t likely to come quickly anyway. and so that does seem to be the strategy of the trump administration. if they can just stall long enough to get close to the 2020 election, they can put up an argument and people might buy it at that point that what s the point of impeachment when the voters are going to get to speak in the ballot box in the very ....

One court opinion that has addressed this question. that occurred during the administration of george w. bush where this was asserted by harri harriet meyers who was in his white house counsel and a court there said that s nonsense. there is no absolute immunity for white house staff. they have to come and show up and appear to testify. they can assert executive privilege on a question-by-question basis. but they can t use it as an absolute immunity to avoid testifying whatsoever. and so that s the issue that will be decided by both of these judges. and the idea that the department of justice asserted yesterday before judge jackson that courts can t even decide this issue strikes me as a bridge too far. charlie, you make the point, though, that in doing this, in making these relatively extreme assertions of executive power and privilege, which you have written about extensively over past administrations, in just making these cases and having a judge have to listen to them and and c ....
