Readers have shared their views after a councillor said he felt a new social media policy was an attempt to gag certain members. Edwin Dinsdale, who represents Corkickle South on Whitehaven Town Council, made the comments during a meeting on Thursday. The policy bans councillors from “engaging in online fights and personal attacks”, as well as “posting controversial or inflammatory remarks”.
