CBL Says 1st Quarter Sales Up Significantly; Top Brass Get Bonuses Tuesday, May 18, 2021
CBL & Associates officials said sales were strong in the first quarter, and top officials will be getting bonuses.
They include $953,000 for CEO Stephen Lebovitz, $414,000 for board executive Charles Lebovitz, $313,000 each for president Michael Lebovitz and chief financial officer Farzana Khaleel and $201,000 for chief legal officer Jeffery Curry.
The bonuses were approved by the Chattanooga-based mall company s board compensation committee.
Stephen Lebovitz said, “The strong rebound in the economy is benefiting our properties, with first quarter sales across the CBL portfolio gaining significantly over sales for the first quarter 2019.

Like many children of Russian immigrants who settled in Chattanooga, Moses Lebovitz realized the American Dream of rising from poverty to substantial wealth.
“Mr. Mose” was born in Chattanooga in 1905 and died June 27, 1991 at the age of 86.
He was a graduate of Chattanooga High School on 3
rd Street and then studied business and finance at the University of Chattanooga.
Subsequent to that period he served his country in the United States Army.
His first entrepreneurial success came in the movie theater industry when he became a partner in Independent Theaters which owned and operated many properties in the Tri-State region and the South.
