FLINT, MI There’s a stark juxtaposition to Michael Thompson’s former life in prison to the life he’s living now on the other side of the prison bars. He’s free with all the things he needs.
In less than a month, more than 8,000 strangers, marijuana and prison reform advocates raised $271,000 for Thompson to purchase a new home, car, clothing and personal belongings. It’s just some of the basics to survive and thrive in the world.
