Jeep Parade in Daytona Beach on Sunday ends week-long event

Heavy rain and lightning greeted the faithful early Sunday, and threatened the traditional end to Jeep Beach, the Jeep Beach Sweep Parade down Volusia County’s beaches.
But even the inclement weather couldn t stop hundreds of Jeep enthusiasts and their vehicles from rolling onto the sands from the International Speedway Boulevard approach in Daytona Beach to the Dunlawton Avenue approach in Daytona Beach Shores to the International Speedway Boulevar.
At least 3,000 Jeep vehicles were on the beach braving the rain, said Charlene Greer, founder of the Jeep Beach event.
The event brought 200,000 Jeep event fans to Daytona Beach. More than 20,000 Jeep vehicles participated in the week long event, Greer said.  ....

Jeep Beach hits Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach

DAYTONA BEACH  They lined up early on Friday for the Jeep Beach “Main Event” on the infield at Daytona International Speedway.

Drivers waved and molar-rattling train horns honked as event organizer Charlene Greer shouted out greetings during a bumper-to-bumper procession that lasted roughly an hour.
“That’s right! Jeep Beach, baby,” Greer exclaimed. “We are so excited! Jeep Beach is back, you guys!”
After taking a hiatus in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, the annual Jeep Beach celebration has returned stronger than ever this week, Greer said. ....
