: Friday, May 14, 2021, 11:53 PM IST Mumbai Metro: Train operators all set to start trial runs on lines 2A & 7 this month Metro Trial Run Mumbai, May14: As the 20 km section of the Metro Line 2 A from Dahisar E to Andheri E and Line 7 from Dahisar to DN Nagar, Andheri is being spruced up for the trial run in initial stage starting from May end, the Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation (MMMOCL) train operators are all set to take up the new job. According to the MMMOCL, train operators and their trainers (Line Supervisor & SMs) have been given vital on job training about the specifications and operations of Catenary Maintenance Vehicle (CMV). They also underwent various brake like EBD (Emergency Braking Distance) tests at various speeds and driving tests at the Charkop Depotto get a better understanding. Mumbai Metro line 7: MMRDA proposes linkway FOBs for better connectivity The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority(MMRDA) has issued three tenders inviting agencies for the construction of linkway Foot Over Bridges (FOBs) at Metro Line 7 (Dahisar East Andheri East). The nominated stations where these FOBs will be built at Gunadavli in Andheri East, Aarey and Goregoan East. Interested agencies can submit online bids from April 23 till 3 pm. Also, a pre-bid meeting through video conference has been organised on April 6. Reportedly, the MMRDA intends to start the commercial operations of Metro Line 2A(Dahisar to DN Nagar) and 7 (Dahisar East Andheri East) by this year. Soon trial runs will be started. The first indigenous metro rake has already reached Mumbai and parked at Charkop Metro depot. The rake is for Metro line Metro-2A and 7 (Dahisar E-Andheri E). Chief Minister Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray today unveiled the first indigenous Metro coach for Metro Line 7 and 2-A at Charkop Metro Depot. Travel Card, Operational Control Center, Charkop Depot and Receiving Substation were also inaugurated, tweeted of the official account of Thackeray.
