MP's welcome for scheme that offers opportunity for disadvantaged people

EAST Thurrock’s MP has welcomed a new initiative offering opportunity to young people and says he is looking forward to the launch of a pilot scheme in the region.
‘Changing Futures’ is a government led project that aims to change systems and improve services for people who experience multiple disadvantage including homelessness, substance misuse, poor mental health, domestic abuse, or contact with the criminal justice system.
Essex is one of 15 chosen areas in England who will be funded to take part in the £64m programme and has been allocated £2,846,500 to pilot new ways of working and delivering innovative services. ....

A £46 million scheme to provide more effective and coordinated support for some of the most vulnerable people in our communities was launched today (10 December 2020) by Minister for Rough Sleeping and Housing Kelly Tolhurst.
The government is inviting local organisations to form partnerships and bid for a share of the funding to better support those who experience multiple disadvantages including homelessness, substance misuse, mental health issues, domestic abuse, and contact with the criminal justice system. ....
