On Jan. 18, FSU’s 33rd annual Martin Luther King Week Celebration took off featuring a series of virtual and live events, with each day oriented around one of King’s six principles for nonviolence.
This year’s celebration focused on the influence of women of color in a variety of fields such as medicine, writing and dance. 
Martin Luther King Jr. led a number of successful nonviolent protests which strengthened the call for racial and systematic equality during the Civil Rights Movement. King’s steadfast determination has extended beyond the Civil Rights Movement as his lasting impact continues to shape the world we see today in progressive organizations such as Black Lives Matter and the Equal Justice Initiative.  ....
