When he turned around to pull the vehicle over the driver, later identified as 40-year-old Bruce Broughton of London, fled leading police on a chase. Broughton, who was wanted on a parole violation warrant and child support warrant, eventually pulled into a driveway, fled on foot and escaped. Meanwhile Deputy France was joined by Deputy Hunter Disney and CSO Brian France. Two passengers in the vehicle, 27-year-old Eric Spencer and 37-year-old Kenneth Mullins, both of London, were determined to be intoxicated and arrested. Police also found a loaded syringe in the vehicle. Spencer was wanted for failure to appear in court and possession of drug paraphernalia.
