Chico Fire says fire near Stadium Village started at a nearby homeless encampment
Some residents of the Stadium Village apartments had to evacuate from their apartments late Saturday night due to a vegetation fire that started close by.

CHICO, Calif. – According to the Chico Fire Department a fire that broke out late Saturday night in Chico near Stadium Village was started nearby at a homeless encampment.
Firefighters said the fire broke out between the fences and the gates near the Nord Avenue apartment complex.
Chandler McCauley was just moving into the Stadium Village apartments on Saturday but had to flee the building quickly due to the fire. ....
