HARIPUR: A teenage boy drowned in Haro River near Khanpur Dam, police said here on Saturday.
The police quoted eyewitnesses as saying that some youngsters were bathing in the water accumulated near Tarnava Bridge because of usual leakage from the Khanpur Dam’s spillways, when one of them slipped into river and drowned.
The rescue workers fished out the body and shifted it to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Khanpur. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Shahzad, 17, a resident of Rawalpindi.
Separately, six persons, including three women, were injured in two road accidents in different parts of the city on Saturday. ....
