It is with profound sadness, mr. Speaker, that i share the news that a great friend and Public Servant has passed away. Darell Ann Pennington was a dear friend, trusted member of my staff, and tireless advocate for marylands Fifth District. For the past 12 years he saved as a case worker in my office in green belt, maryland, serving prince georges county, culvert county and anne arundel county. She had worked for earl yes state senator. Mr. Speaker, she knew the Fifth District and communities better than almost anyone. You struggle to think why did we hear so much woe is me the other side says we heard it because 13 is still unfathomable, but its certainly more fathomable than 20 so, i dont know its good. It is good. The president r
He put his house on ashore foundation the rain and the winds came. The floodwaters rose. But the house did firm. I tipped my had to governor deal in those lawmakers that came before me. Those who poured the concrete and lead the footings. Hardworking georgians who left this place better than they found it. When youre ago, i urged those in this room, in this historic space, to join me in building a safer, stronger, and more prosperous state. A state where Small Businesses are empowered to grow, invest, and thrive. Were government is responsive, and effective. A state where health care is affordable, accessible, and where the rights of the unborn are protected. I asked lawmakers, both republicans and democrats, to join me in the fight for georges future. To crack down on gangs and sex trafficking. To invest in education and our educators. To stand up for our values in those we value. To put politics and partisanship behind us and unite for the greater good. Over the last 12 months, we ha

During my first state of the state speech i talked about a wise builder who put his house on a sure foundation. The rain and the winds came, the floodwaters rose, but the house stood firm. I tipped my hat to governor deal and those lawmakers that came before me. Those who poured the concrete and laid the footings. Hard working georgians who left this place better than they full count found it. One year ago i urged those in this room, this historic space, to join me in building a safer, stronger, and more prosperous state.
