UPDATE: 2-Alarm Fire at Champion Auto Parts in Valley Lee Ruled Accidental by Fire Marshal

The cause was determined to be accidental after a fire ignited while an employee was working on a vehicle inside the building. The same employee sustained burns to his upper body and was flown by Maryland State Police Trooper 6 to Washington Hospital Center.

Mar 5, 2021 Leroy Dean Rupert, Jr., 69, of Beech Creek, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born in Lock Haven on Sept. 25, 1951, the son of the late Leroy D., Sr. and Minnie Kline Rupert. Leroy was a 1971 graduate of Bald Eagle Nittany High School. On Dec. 14, 1977, he married the love of his life, Lorraine G. Miller, who survives. Leroy was employed at Champion Auto Parts in Lock Haven before working at McDonald’s of Lamar until his retirement. He was a life member of the Nittany Valley Fire Company where he served as an EMT for 20 years. He was also a life member of the Walker Township Fire Company, Hublersburg.
