Solar project official gives report | News, Sports, Jobs

(The Leader-Herald/Michael Anich) JOHNSTOWN A Fulton County Board of Supervisors’ committee recently heard a presentation on Nexus Renewables’ $5.6 million solar project adjacent to the Tryon Technology Park in Perth. The committee also approved a proposed county subscription related to the project, which isn’t expected to be done until next year. County Planning Director Scott Henze updated the panel on the project at the County Office Building. “This is a community solar project,” he told supervisors.

(The Leader-Herald/Michael Anich) JOHNSTOWN Fulton County on Monday took a major early step toward bringing to fruition a $29 million Route 30/30A Corridor sanitary sewer construction project from Gloversville to Mayfield and Northville. The full Board of Supervisors endorsed the concept of the project at its monthly meeting at the County Office Building. Board Chairman Jack Callery told the board that he and other county officials met last week locally with U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer of New York. He said the senator indicated he would “keep us in mind” for federal infrastructure funding for the sewer project.

Amber M. Kellogg AMSTERDAM Three more arrests were made in the stabbing incident at the Fastrac store on Market Street Saturday. Amber M. Kellogg, 27, of Amsterdam was charged with obstructing governmental administration; Robert W. Green, 26, of Amsterdam, was charged with second-degree harassment; and a 13-year old female, who was charged with obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest. According to Amsterdam police, Kellogg was charged with one count of obstructing governmental administration for her actions during the incident. It is alleged that Kellogg attempted to open a locked rear passenger side door of a marked Amsterdam Police Department patrol car in an attempt to free a person who was in custody in the back of the car.

3 FMCC matters in front of board | News, Sports, Jobs

manich@leaderherald.com JOHNSTOWN The Fulton County Board of Supervisors will review three Fulton-Montgomery Community College matters at its meeting at 1 p.m. Monday at the County Office Building. A resolution is on the agenda to appoint a trustee to the FMCC Board of Trustees. Supervisors will consider a resolution to authorize advertisement for bids for the FMCC Financial Technology Lab Project. The project is part of Fulton County’s 2021 capital plan. The board will also consider setting a public hearing to amend a local law to delete a provision that required FMCC land to be used for student housing.
