STRATFORD Mayor Laura Hoydick has proposed a budget that would deliver a very slight property tax decrease.
The $240.4 million spending plan would see the mill rate drop from 39.64 to 39.60.
Currently, a house assessed at $200,000 pays about $7,928 in property taxes annually.
Under the mayor’s proposal, the same homeowner would pay $7,920, a decrease of $8.
Stratford has until Friday to figure out how to allocate COVID-19 stimulus bonanza
