Corvallis panel calls for facilities fixes

In the lone commission amendments to the $181 million budget that City Manager Mark Shepard introduced May 3, commissioners recommended Wednesday that the city target facilities with the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds it receives and that a further Budget Commission meeting be scheduled to discuss the issue.

Benton County passes $363 million two-year budget


The Benton County Budget Committee has recommended a $363 million spending plan for the 2021-23 budget cycle.
The plan will be reviewed by the Benton County Board of Commissioners at its June 15 meeting, and commissioners can choose to amend it at that time.
The budget is more than $50 million more than the 2019-21 two-year cycle, with federal funding and higher property tax revenue the key drivers, said Mary Otley, the county’s chief financial officer.

Is also expected to agree with the recommendation meaning shots could start in a matter of days. A March study by Pfizer included more than two-thousand volunteers in that age range. It found kids experienced side effects similar to young adults.Results of a COVID-19 vaccine study by Moderna for the same age group is expected later this year.  ....
