Wranglings that continue in washington. but here city officials and county officials say that they are preparing as if title 42 is going to be lifted. there was a state of emergency order issued over the weekend. folks here say that they re really focused on opening up more shelter space and food situation, medical supplies, whatever might be needed. city officials and county officials are talking up opening several warehouses even unused schools to could house temporarily migrants as they move on to other destinations in the united states but, pam, also the big news of the day is how things have dramatically changed on the riverfront in el paso between el paso and juarez, an area where many migrants, thousands of migrants have crossed in the last week or so and this morning, texas national guard and state troopers started erecting almost a mile-long chain link fence with barbed wire. this is a dramatic change and not a welcome change by from what we re hearing initially in ....

Migrants last night waiting to enter el paso. they have already illegally crossed the river and entered into the united states. now they are waiting to be let through a chain link fence to get further in to be processed by border patrol. predominantly nicaraguaian migrants. it is in the low 30s and some have to start campfires in an effort to stay warm. that el paso sector absolutely hammered in recent days averaging well over 2,000 illegal crossings per day. we ll take you up to the eagle pass area. look at this. once again our drone team over another large massive group of migrants, several hundred of them who crossed illegally at the same time as usual. all of them adults from nicaragua, cuba, columbia, and the dominican republic part of the del rio sector which has seen already in the last two months over 107,000 illegal crossings. those numbers up 55% over the same time last year. and last year set the all-time ....
Last night, well over 1,000 migrants waiting for border patrol to let them in through a chain link fence, and process them. some of them starting campfires because it s so cold. the cbp source says the el paso sector has seen over 139,000 migrant encounters, a staggering 255% increase over the same time last year. local shelters completely overwhelmed, and they say what s happening there is completely unprecedented. take a listen. we have never seen anything like this, and i ve been the ceo 25 years. in years past we would get, you know, maybe here is a group of ten cubans, something like that. now all of a sudden the border patrol is releasing as many as 500, 600 a day just to the streets of el paso. ....
