Volunteers with Chaffee County Search and Rescue South honored the memory of Vern Kelso by dedicating a recently purchased truck in his honor Saturday in Poncha Springs.
In 2022, Sarah was hiking Mount Yale with her boyfriend, Kendall. As experienced hikers and rock climbers, they were well-prepared, properly dressed and had a Garmin when Sarah took a 500 foot fall.
A man was killed after his snowmobile flipped over and pinned him as he was recreating near the summit of Cottonwood Pass Tuesday, according to a spokesperson with the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office.
