In an interview on Wednesday, DepEd 1 (Ilocos) Public Affairs Unit head Cesar Bucsit said of the total, 55,736 were enrolled in kindergarten, 405,515 in elementary, 314,139 in junior high, and 161,016 in senior high school. The figure is expected to increase as enrollment is ongoing, he said. Bucsit said the projected enrollees for School Year 2022-2023 in the region are at 1.3 million. Darius Nieto, project development officer of DepEd-1, in a virtual forum on Tuesday, said 96 percent of the enrolled learners have already received their first dose of coronavirus disease 2019 vaccine, while 93 percent have been fully vaccinated. Based on the data obtained by the Philippine News Agency on Friday, at least 43,205 are enrolled in kindergarten, 317,268 in elementary, 251,694 in junior high, and 126,045 in senior high school. In an interview, DepEd Ilocos Region Public Affairs Unit head Cesar Bucsit said the number is expected to increase as enrollment is still ongoing. Despite the 7.0 magnitude earthquake's damage to some schools, he said majority of the classrooms in the region are not affected but the DepEd is still monitoring and checking the structural stability of Ilocos Region's almost 3,000 schools. In a forum hosted by the DepEd Ilocos regional office, Joey Pimental, statistician of the policy, planning, and research division, said that of the total number, 30,273 enrolled in Kindergarten, 47,878 in Grade 1, 30,525 in Grade 7, and 33,351 in Grade 11. Those that preregistered were from the 2,999 schools from the four provinces of the Ilocos Region, he said. Some 86,177 were logged in Pangasinan, 12,609 in Ilocos Norte, 24,577 in Ilocos Sur, and 18,664 in La Union. "We still expect the number to increase as the early registration will end on April 30,"

In a phone interview on Monday, DepEd Ilocos Region Public Affairs Unit head Cesar Bucsit said the registration is in preparation of the DepEd for the school year 2022-2023. "So DepEd could anticipate the necessary preparations like the number of chairs and other needed resources for the resumption of classes for another school year," he said. Buscit said the early registration is done in person as the entire Ilocos Region is now at Alert Level 1. In a phone interview on Tuesday, DepEd Ilocos Region Public Affairs Unit head Cesar Bucsit said 166 of these schools have begun their limited F2F classes since the last week of February and the first week of March, while 377 of them have yet to start. Under the progressive expansion of F2F classes in Pangasinan, Buscit said 18 schools are in Alaminos City, Pangasinan, eight in Pangasinan DepEd Division 1, 13 in Pangasinan DepEd Division 2, 10 in San Carlos City, and nine in Urdaneta City. In Ilocos Norte, 34 are in Batac City, five in Laoag City, and 19 in Ilocos Norte DepEd Division; while in Ilocos Sur, 35 in Candon City, one in Vigan City, and 14 in Ilocos Sur DepEd Division.
