Biometrics pilot underway at Madrid Airport Primary tabs 17th February 2021 The project aims to increase security measures whilst streamlining airport operations Spain’s national airport authority, Aena is currently carrying out an innovation project at Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport which aims to find new ways to operate the air travel industry whilst working under COVID-19 measures. Spanish flag carrier Iberia, airline system integrator Inetum and security and transportation firm, Thales are working alongside Aena to achieve the new development. By doing so, the need for human contact is significantly reduced and the safety of the airport is enhanced.
