Smith auditorium. Tonights program, the battle for new york, rallying and rioting, is part of the distinguished Speaker Series which is the heart of our public programs. We always want to thank mr. Schwartz for his support which enabled us to invite so many authors and historians. He would like to thank all the Council Members for all their great work and support. Lets give them all a hand. We lived in an upper middleclass neighborhood in hamburg. We went to Public Schools there and life was pretty nice. Although, i understand what i was a baby, we are talking about 1922, 1923, it was at the end of world war i and the inflation, and understand from my mother, they bought a bottle of milk for one million marks. The times were not that easy when i was a baby, but i do not remember that. We went to public school. We went to what they called a Junior High School. And then hitler, well of course, in 19
