On Tuesday, Nov. 24, Highland City Council approved a Community Development Block Grant application for funds for a code compliance officer, an administrative assistant and community development director as well as the construction of pavement improvement projects on Cunningham Street.
Following the city council’s approval of the grant application it was submitted to the San Bernardino County Department of Community Development and Housing for approval.
Highland’s allocation for the annual grant, issued by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for community construction projects, has not yet been determined. Last year the city received $399,617.
This year’s application included $159,271 for enhanced code enforcement by supporting salary and benefits for a code compliance officer, an administrative assistant and a community development director. ....
