Iraq, fighting a booming currency black market, has considerably increased overseas dollar transactions through the official global SWIFT system, the Central Bank vice governor said on Monday.Transactions through the Central Bank electronic platform which ensures compliance with SWIFT have considerably increased, the bank's vice governor Ammar Khalaf told AFP. Death toll sands at 18 people killed and 42 people wounded. these were twin blasts that went off in quick succession and we could hear them here at the cnn bureau. according to authorities they took place in western baghdad and these were car bombs supposedly located in the parking lot of a bank but that bank is located right next door to a government building where national i.d.s are issued to iraqis and this being the first day of the week in the muslim world it would have been very busy around 10:30 this morning when those blasts went off. and that s exactly what happened, so the scene down there is still trying to be cleared out, as they still try to care for those who have been killed and those who have been wounded. in the meantime this has been really three days of violent activity. last night there were a number of roadside bombs that were detonated, and then also reports of a rocket attack that killed five people and then it was last sunday, a week ago that you had the very br ....
