Ohio Northern cancels Marion mobile clinic due to pause in J&J vaccine


Marion County residents who were looking forward to receiving the one-dose Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccine will have to wait. 
Ohio Northern University s HealthWise Mobile Clinic canceled its clinics in Marion, Hardin, Logan, Union, Crawford and Wyandot counties this week and next due to a pause on the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. A clinic was scheduled Tuesday at the Marion County Fairgrounds. 
Accoridng to USA Today, The Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are recommending the U.S. pause on using the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine after reports of blood clots in individuals who received the vaccine. ....

Marion County seeing downward trend in COVID-19 cases
After a slight uptick a few weeks ago, the coronavirus cases in Marion County are decreasing once again. 
As of Tuesday, there are 1,269 active community cases, which is 110 fewer cases than last week. The number of deaths remains unchanged at 135. In addition, there are 7,936 cumulative cases in the county as well as 4,007 known recoveries. 
The decline in cases in the area is following a similar trend across the state of Ohio. As of Wednesday, there are 1,842 new COVID-19 cases and 77 deaths. That is a huge drop compared to three months ago, when 13,559 cases were recorded Nov. 30.  ....
