The deal provides IHS with a further 602 towers in Brazil and 217 in Colombia, although CommsUpdate reports that Centennial’s 800 towers in Mexico are not part of the agreement. IHS is pursuing a strategy of growth via acquisitions in the region, having last year purchased Brazilian firms Skysites and Cell Site Solutions. ....
Sayonara FIOS Guys: After decades of FIOS service (Internet only since 2010) I have moved from close-in Springfield, VA (22150) to the hinterlands of central VA. We (Franconia, VA CO) had one of the first GPON deployments in VA back-in-the day and I consider myself truly blessed and spoiled. Years of 940/880 service for $54.95, net-net-net until recently. My only choice at my current location is Comcrap, even though some clusters of the county offer Fios. I sucked it up and went with the local provider as we are within walking distance of my wife s business. Saves a 50 mile round trip. Never truly imagined the implications of 5Mb uploads until now. Had to try and send customer a 680 meg file, would have taken over 2 hours. Ultimately had to spoonfeed him instructions how and where to d/l the file from my cloud storage. ....
