Livermore. Firefighters tell us an suv caught fire and then because of the extreme dry conditions were experiencing, the flames spread to the hillside nearby. We still dont know the condition of the driver but the fire did go from two acres to five acres in a matter of minutes. The flames are now contained. Even though its cool outside, the fire danger remains. A cool dry forecast is something firefighters are watching closely. Rob mayeda joins us. This drought making the fire worse could keep them busy. The wind speeds once they kick up can get a fire moving pretty good as the hillsides are parched from the drought. 65 in livermore. Wind speeds out of the west at 10 miles per hour. Had this fire happened a little bit later on this afternoon, you can see the wind speeds will accelerate closer to 20 and 25. Cloud cover and a chance to see light showers around the bay area. The hillsides very dry. Another thing to watch out for could be lightningsparked fires. Not so much for the bay are ....
Were ready. Good morning. Im dave clark. Lets talk about weather and traffic. Steve paulson has things to tell you. There is a lot of cloud cover. Some of it is low clouds coming in west to east. High clouds coming off the sierra where theyve had rain. It will give us a partly cloudy to mostly cloudy day. There are breaks in the low clouds. But temperatures cool to mild. Not too bad. Not cold. But there is a little he breeze behind that. The cloud cover, you can see some of that. The rain off the sierra. We have cloud from the sierra going east to west at higher elevations. Then going from west to east, the low clouds. These two come together and you can see the thundershower activity, the rain kind of calms down in the morning. But it picks up later in the afternoon. That will be widespread through the sierra, also Northern California. Could be a few isolated showers. The low is rotating around. 50s on the temps. Warmer ocea ....
