Well hear from one of them coming up in the next half hour. Live in the newsroom, anne makovec, kpix 5. An oakland teenager is safe and sound this morning after police rescued her from a home where she was being held captive. Investigators say the kidnapping could be tied to human trafficking. Police swarmed the home near 65th and herzog yesterday after hearing reports of a man kidnapping a young girl. Officers found the teen and arrested a 20yearold man. The fbi estimates more than 100,000 children nationwide are victims of sex trafficking and if that was the case here, the teen may have escaped an even worse fate. Human trafficking is a serious issue and not just in oakland but across the nation and the world. Its cases like this that we have to take seriously to see, um, what are the underlying issues that are going on. Almost 1,000 cases of trafficking were reported in california in 2014. Thats an 86 jump since 2012. Police are still looking for the person who shot at San Jose City

What makes us american is our shared commitment to an ideal that all of us are created equal, all of us have a chance to make of our lives what we will. Every study shows, whether it was the irish or the polls or the germans, italians, chinese, japanese, the mexicans, the kenyans, whoever showed up ove
