Nigerian founders-turned-investors are now running syndicate funds
The Future Africa Fund kicked off in 2015 when Iyinoluwa Aboyeji and Nadayar Enegesi, co-founders of U.S.-based and African-focused talent company Andela, wrote checks to African startups as angel investors. This continued even as Aboyeji joined and left Flutterwave, the fintech company he co-founded.
In January 2020, the pair made the fund official, with Aboyeji as general partner and Enegesi as limited partner. Simultaneously, they announced that the fund had invested $1.5 million across 19 African companies.
The idea for a syndicate fund would come in the following months as the pandemic disrupted investment activities worldwide. ....

Co-creation Hub (CcHub), a technology innovation company, has closed the first round of investments for the CcHub Syndicate.
Through the investment program, the company has selected 3 technology companies to invest in. These companies are focused on building critical digital infrastructure to be deployed across Africa and become successful tech companies in 2021.
CcHub’s first investment round lasted six weeks, receiving a lot of investor feedback. Since the launch in December, more than 400 investors signed-up to the syndicate. Over 30 investors committed to investing in the future of the African Innovation and Technology ecosystem. ....

2.  Gradely launches virtual learning management system for schools
 
Nigerian ed-tech startup Gradely has launched a homegrown, virtual learning management system (LMS) for schools.
The startup, which deploys the use of artificial intelligence (AI), helps parents and schools intervene in real-time to cover student learning gaps.
According to review, the startup was founded in 2019 by Boye Oshinaga, Femi Ibiwoye, Seyi Adelaju and Babatunde Caleb.
This development comes after raising US$150,000 in pre-seed funding from angels and venture capital firms such as Ventures Platform and Microtraction.
Launching its LMS as “Gradely For Schools,” the product runs as a teacher-led LMS, built for personalised learning. ....
