Frank lautenberg. cory booker, mayor of newark, darling of the media, darling of the celebrities of hollywood, well-funded rising star barely at 50% in a state with 700,000 more democrats than republicans. shouldn t be that way. obama care was a big topic this week as these health care exchanges continue to have some problems, and republican senator, pat roberts, of kansas, is calling for action. the problems with exchanges are critical, and they re profound, and is disputable. yes, the secretary is not shooting straight with the american people. the system is crashing. she continues her promotional tour and advertising at taxpayer expense. this is ridiculous. everything we warned about has come to pass. today i m calling on cathleen to resign her post as secretary of health and human services. ....
The secretary has had three and a half years to launch obama care, and she has failed. george, what do you think of that? well, she won t. at least because she s now been told to. look, this is government in action. whoever expected government to take over 18% of the economy and do it smoothly, whoever expects that has never tried to get their driver s license renewed. juan. that s true. i have tried, and it s quite a hassle. the larger point that s interesting to me is cathleen was governor of kansas, and pat roberts is from kansas. i got to believe they know each other. obviously, this is a political play. republicans don t like obama care, and he is playing to that base. do i think that she ll resign? obviously not, but i think that the idea that there is some difficulty, some glitches with the president, what s the surprise here? value voters summoned today and through the weekend, getting a lot of applause for two big senators who have been behind a lot of the push early ....
Not look them in the eye and make sure they didn t get health care. now he has to look them in the eye and say i m not going to give you health care. same with scott walker saying, well, i can t in good conscious do this. you tried in good conscience to not do this for years. rick scott. rick scott. talking about i mean, rick scott, who literally was wearing a t-shirt for the last several hundred days that said repeal obama care is now buying in. cathleen, secretary of health and human services, joy, calls this something that is too good to pass up. it s too good to pass up. i m sorry. i didn t mean to laugh in the face of rick scott s great compassion. this guy s signature policy was to drug test the poor. this is a guy who is so compassionate about the poor that he literally led the fight of 22 states all the way to the supreme court to stop health care. he just wrote an op ed, literally two months ago, saying absolutely not, hell no, we re not taking this medicaid money. w ....
it is well, let s not say. anyway, moving on. this got awkward. i mean, i will also say, look, and i think that a lot has been made of this sort of controversy. it may be a controversy where none actually exists. people have forgotten that janet napolitano was a cabinet level secretary. cathleen is out there. valerie jarrett. where have they been, though? could the white house not have done a better job in terms of pushing back on this narrative? it s partly because of the sort of sexy job, the jobs the beltway media tends to cover are state defense, cia, those are sort of the jobs that get the most glam, right? people focus on them. then i think in the sense bill is right that it s partly because the white house wasn t seeing to fight for susan rice. i spoke with prom independent african-american politician yesterday who their complaint was that it s cumulative. the president wants seen to fight over susan rice, and the office of not fighting for her publicly is hurting him ....
